North Country Unfading Black a perfect match for an old Pennsylvania slate roof

When it came time to replacing the front towers of the Blair County Courthouse in Hollidaysburg, PA our North Country Unfading Black roofing slate was a perfect match for the old Pennsylvania slate which was built in 1875. The production of roofing slate in Pennsylvania dates back to 1734, when Welsh settlers discovered the Peach Bottom slate deposit in York County, PA.

Back in March 2008, we were asked to supply our North Country Unfading Black slate for the American Brewery Restoration project in Baltimore, MD. The “Darth Vader” building as we fondly refer to was built in 1863 and Norman Gothic style architecture.  Part of the building’s charm is the detailed slate roof.
