North Country Slate is proud to host its Ludowici Showroom at our office in Uxbridge, Ontario. Our Canada Design Center features not only each of the 58 standard designer colour tiles, but also a variety of slate and tile demo boards to offer inspiration and design ideas for curious homeowners, roofers, and architects. Our staff are happy to assist you with any questions for a slate or tile roof project, with demo boards to help bring your vision to life.
Our roofing design showroom is available to all our guests so that they can see and feel the Ludowici Tile and North Country Slate that can provide generational security to their home or business. Ludowici Tile Profiles are almost infinitely customizable, and slate roofs are at once as timeless and eternal. Any of our natural slate colours can be combined to create a custom-blend multi-colour roof that stands out in your neighbourhood.

Canadian-owned and Operated for More Than 20 Years
From its origins and Newfoundland Slate Inc. in 1990, North Country Slate has maintained pride in its Canadian identity. Originally founded to develop and quarry a clear purple slate deposit in Burgoyne’s Cove, Newfoundland, the business that grew into North Country Slate has always represented a Canadian contribution to the North American Slate Industry. Our Unfading Black roofing slate is quarried in Quebec, Canada, and we are thrilled to match it with the greatest of historical North American roofing slate.
Ludowici by North Country Slate
North Country Slate became the official Canadian distributor of Ludowici terra cotta roofing tile in 2024. To meet the needs of Canadian designers, builders, and architects, we are thrilled to offer design support and distribution for Ludowici roofing tile. Uniquely and exclusively manufactured in New Lexington, Ohio, Ludowici has been producing luxury terra cotta tile in the U.S. since 1893. Its tiles have been used in iconic Canadian architecture, including Casa Loma in Toronto, Ontario
