2025 ‘Slated for Excellence Project of the Year Awards’ Winners Announced!

To recognize and celebrate outstanding craftsmanship, innovation and design for slate roofing projects, North Country Slate (NCS) has established the ‘Slated for Excellence Project of the Year Awards.’ The award program was established in 2025, and the plans are to issue the awards annually to recognize the roofing contractors, architects and builders whose exceptional work exemplifies the quality, durability and timeless beauty of natural slate roofing.
There are seven award categories for projects ranging in size from less than 25 squares to over 100 squares, as well as awards for projects employing North Country Slate’s lightweight slate roofing system and for heritage or historic renovation projects. For the 2025 Awards, the projects had to meet two primary criteria: they had to have been completed in 2025, and they had to be natural slate roofing projects that were supplied by North Country Slate.
For 2025, the company issued awards in each of the seven categories, as well as notable mentions in six categories.
“Every year we see a plethora of outstanding projects installed by real craftsmen using North Country Slate,” said Chris Large, president. “Not only do we want to share these exceptional projects with the market, but we also want to recognize the companies and experts who installed them.”
Each of the winning companies receives an engraved, 24 karat gold-plated slate hammer provided in a beautiful wood presentation box, as well as NCS swag, and permission to market their companies using a customized ‘Slated for Excellence Award’ logo.
