Both rich in appearance and rare, this vibrant hard-vein slate is frequently used to create patterns and accents in the creation of truly unique roof designs. Produced only by select New York quarries, North Country Unfading Red slate meets or exceeds ASTM requirements as an S-1 rate roofing slate.

North Country Unfading Red is a bright red slate that will retain its original color. Red slate is typically more textured and harder to cut. It is most often used as an accent color in patterned slate roofs.

Unfading Red due to limited availability is one of the most expensive slates one can buy. Under the ASTM C121 it has a low absorption rate. It is a strong, hard, durable slate that is resistant to freeze thaw cycles.
