Our blue/black slate shingles require minimal maintenance, unaffected by freeze / thaw cycles, and are environmentally safe and backed by our 75-year warranty. With stringent thickness and dimensional tolerances, standard slate thicknesses include 3/16”, 1/4” and 3/8”. Slate nail holes are individual punched with counter sink, not drilled. Material is produced to a higher standard and with easy trimming characteristics it provides many installation efficiencies saving both time and money on the rooftop. Being able to match the existing 12”x8”x1/4” blue/black slate size in a timely fashion, was a key factor in choosing North Country Black as the selected contractor was able complete the new roof installation prior to winter.
